Estel Gallery is currently accepting submissions for its August 2008 exhibition of drawings August 1 - 30, 2008, opening reception August 2, 2008. The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2008.
Most artists can trace their initial interest in art to the drawings they first made as children. Yet as an art form, drawing has become less appreciated with the increase in variety of art media available and the notion of what is considered art. This summer Estel Gallery dedicates its walls to artists who have continued to refine their skills and creativity through the art of drawing, pushing it to new levels.
Eligibility: Open to any artist over the age of 18.
Acceptable Media: Graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, or various metals like silverpoint. Digital drawings will not be considered for this exhibit. We will also not consider work that has been digitally enhanced in any way.
Fee: $10 Processing Fee (Check made out to: Estel Gallery.)
Participation: Please do not email submissions or send a website for consideration. You may send images using the following guidelines.
1. No more than five (5) quality images of work completed in the last three (3) years on a CD. Each image must be properly labeled with: Artist Name, Title, Date of Completion, Medium, Dimensions and Gallery Retail Price. Please do not include images of sold work. All work for the show must be for sale.
2. A current resume (Please limit to no more than two pages) Include: Exhibitions divided between one-person and group & Gallery representation of both current and past relationships.
3. An Artist's Statement about your work or any comments you feel neccessary to fully appreciate your work. (Please limit to no more than two pages. The statement should be clear, concise and not hand-written.)
4. Collectors list (if applicable)
5. All submissions will be considered for representation by Estel Gallery. Please note if you are not interested in representation by the gallery or if you have exclusive representation that precludes you from being considered. Terms of representation by Estel Gallery include the right ot exclusive representation in Nashville and its surrounding area.
Only if you want your items returned, include an appropriately sized self-addressed, stamped return envelope with sufficient postage. (please note that the US Post Office requires additional postage for CDs.) We will not return your submission materials without a SASE or adequate postage.
Deadline: May 31, 2008. All entries must be postmarked by May 31 to be considered.
